I Love My Church

Psalm 27:4
One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
I love Sundays! Going to church is one of my favourite things to do in this great life of mine! I know it's hard to believe… but I start getting hyper on Friday afternoon, then all day Saturday… especially on Saturday night: I anticipate all the possibilities and all the people who might get a new start in life from 10:00-11:30 Sunday morning!
There is no gathering in all the earth as glorious as the Sunday gatherings of God’s people. I love to sing and worship Father God with the kind of Christian I’m privileged to hang out with and do life together with. You see, the citizens of Bethel Church are unique kind of Christians… for some reason; we have always attracted seekers of God… the kind of people who are hungry and thirsty for more and more God in their lives. It’s always been this way!
I usually rise early on Sundays… And in the wee hours of each Sunday morning… I turn to God and pray, synchronizing my heart with Gods heart… so that every time I speak to Gods sons and daughters, I speak as if God himself were speaking to them!
I know this may sound old school… but God is good! I love him beyond words! I love to watch him warm a heart for the very first time!
When new people come through the front doors and they are greeted with smiling faces and caring handshakes… as they stream into the sanctuary and read through their ‘Bethel This Week’… and some people walk around saying hi to each other… then, suddenly 10:00am is here: Someone takes the microphone to welcome us… and the music flies… we pray and everyone sings: together we tell about Gods endless majesty… lyrics of faith awaken our passionate hearts… loving people smile big at one another… and transformation begins!
There is really nothing like this! My Goodness, are you guys feeling this!
So if you’re nearby this weekend or if you don’t have a church family: come in person and take a few minutes to consider the beauty of God… and have a better day for it!
Children First
One of our highest goals at Kids Expedition is to provide quality, Christ-centered care for your children. Our screened volunteers have passed a Police background check and have provided us with multiple personal references as required by our ‘Plan to Protect’ policy.
We also pay close attention to our facilities, the teacher/child ratio, and our check-in and check-out procedures. All of this is done to provide your baby/child with the highest quality care and to give you the confidence to attend our services worry-free.
The success of our quality children’s ministry begins with our dedicated volunteers, each of whom is a part of a service team. These teams develop a close bond as a unit and with the children they see on a weekly basis.
We also encourage parents to be involved by teaching their children every day about the love Jesus has for them.
Deuteronomy 11:18-19 “Fix these (God's) words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”
Bethel - A Place To Belong
You are called to belong, not just believe!
“You are members of God’s very own family, citizens of God’s country, and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.” Ephesians 2:19b (LB)
We are created for community, fashioned for fellowship, and formed for a family, and none of us can fulfill God’s purposes by ourselves. The Bible says we are put together, joined together, built together, members together; heirs together, fitted together, and held together and will be caught up together. You’re not on your own anymore.
While your relationship to Christ is personal, God never intends it to be private. In God’s family you are connected to every other believer, and we will belong to each other for eternity.
The Bible says, “In Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:5 (NIV) The Christian life is more than just commitment to Christ; it includes a commitment to other Christians. The Christians in Macedonia understood this. Paul said, “First, they gave themselves to the Lord; and then, by God’s will, they gave themselves to us as well.” 2 Corinthians 8:5 (TEV)
You become a Christian by committing yourself to Christ, but you become a church member by committing yourself to a specific group of believers. The first decision brings salvation; the second brings fellowship. Thank you for being a part of our Church family.
If there is anything we can do to serve you please inform us. Know this you are loved and you belong at Bethel.
Here is a good Memory Verse for you:
“So in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:5
Blessings,
Pastor A. & Sonja
